Basle in Switzerland

The city of Basle is the third largest city in Switzerland, the capital of the canton Basle and sits on the borders to France and to Germany. Basle is also situated on the river Rhine. Since Basle has a large inland harbour there are also direct connections to the great ocean ports of Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam by barge on a daily basis. The other main traffic links to Basle are by train and by road. On top of that Basle has an own airport for cargo only.

Because of the distinct location of the city, there are many large logistics companies situated in Basle which connects the city with the global cargo network.

Visit Basle and feel free. The city has a specific lifestyle which is difficult to describe, actually words fail to describe what I feel. Maybe I am going to find the right wording later. You know blogs are a living thing. The author is adding something all the time. When you start you never know what the outcome might be.

Anyway, the banner pic shows a view across the river Rhine capture from one the many bridges in the city. And I do start the blog with an image captured in the Basle Cathedral, which is also situated very close to the river. Maybe the reader can feel the silence in the building and maybe that leads to something new. You never know.
